Property Tax
Are you paying more than your fair share?

For Real Estate Agents

The R.I.G.H.T. proposal will reduce the incidence of homeowners being forced to sell their homes resulting from excessive tax increases. This could reduce the number of homes being sold.

I suppose some might interpret this as a negative for the real estate industry. We believe that it is a real plus when people can sell their homes when they want to instead of being forced out by speculation in the real estate market.

And it could even help a sale to tell a buyer that his or her property taxes would never increase more than the cap on the tax levy, currently 4%.

I hope we can all agree it is a good thing to encourage stable communities and preserve neighborhoods and home ownership.

The R.I.G.H.T. plan will do just that and make Rhode Island a great place to buy a home or locate a business.
